Planted in 1982 in Dunham by four partners, including French winemaker Charles-Henri de Coussergues, l'Orpailleur is the pioneer that proved wine could be made in Quebec — and the dean of the Brome-Missisquoi Wine Route, which now strings some twenty estates along the neighbouring hillsides.
