Before it was a bookstore, Drawn & Quarterly was a publishing house: founded in 1990 by Chris Oliveros, then 23 years old and armed with $2,000 borrowed from his father, it grew into one of the world's most influential alternative comics publishers, releasing Julie Doucet, Seth, Guy Delisle and Chester Brown from the Mile End.
