You leave the park on the east side, legs heavy, and land straight in the liveliest commercial street on the Plateau. The avenue slopes gently downhill for two kilometres: thrift shops, record stores, corner cafés, terraces spilling over from May, and the neighbourhood's spiral staircases appearing the moment you glance down a side street.
