Château Ramezay faces City Hall on rue Notre-Dame Est, in the stone house governor Claude de Ramezay had built for himself in 1705.
The building served in turn as a governors' residence, headquarters of the Compagnie des Indes, base for the American Continental Army that hosted Benjamin Franklin here, courthouse, then faculty.
