In December 1959, Pino Miserendino, a watchmaker trained in Palermo, opened under 400 square feet on Saint-Zotique Street. One of the few addresses carrying 18-karat gold, it quickly became the anchor for the neighbourhood's Italian community, then swallowed the unit next door.
